Q.What is a hashtag?
A. A hashtag on Twitter is a way to follow, and or contribute to conversations or communities. Using the # symbol before a word or set of
words.

When ever you want to find out what interesting things the wonderful people of Social
Media Tulsa are up to. Just search #SMTulsa either on Twitter, or on Google.





Q. When should I use the #SMTulsa hashtag?
A. Anytime you want to contribute to the #SMTulsa conversation (which can be always)

Q. Why should I tweet from Social Media Tulsa events?
A. Tweeting from events is a great way to add content not only to your twitter feed, but it helps build the content for the #SMTulsa community.

Tweeting Live from events also helps build your credibility as someone who is on the
cutting edge of the new tools. Whether you're trying to land a job, client, or just
be the cool kid you can only benefit from tweeting live from events.

Q. Is there a proper way to write the #SMTulsa hashtag?

A. Yes and No. When using #SMTulsa in print, blogs, or news stories, as titles for your video blogs, please capitalize the SMT.

When on Twitter, most applications (Tweetchat, Twubs) will turn all hastags to lower cased and that's just fine.

A. Here is a great description: "Twitter chat is a guided conversation where users interested in a particular topic hop onto the service to chat. The chat is given a hashtag, which makes it easy for anyone looking in to identify the chat and participate. In an effort to give back, Social Media Tulsa has teamed up with the Salvation Army Tulsa @SalArmyTulsa for #Tweet4Toys. A holiday toy drive that will allow Tulsa's social media enthusiasts to participate in the annual toy drive in a fun way.

The Twitter chat will include a demo of Tap11 a new Twitter client to help you manage your accounts, mentions, and campaigns. And we will talk about ways to get the most out of #Tweet4Toys and have the message spread through out the City, State, and beyond.
